Ashlee Simpson has been quite silent on issues concerning her recent plastic surgery undertakings. But in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Jessica Simpson’s rugged-looking younger sister has bared her heart.

In a just–released interview, Ashlee reveals that she underwent plastic surgery not because she hated her looks nor she was insecure about herself. She told the magazine that she went under the knife for herself not for anybody else. Her nose job and other facial surgery procedures were done because of her own personal choice and not a reaction to pressure from others.

“I loved how I looked. I’m not an insecure person, nor was I before,” Simpson says in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “It’s a personal choice. I believe if somebody chooses to do plastic surgery it should be for yourself, not for anyone else.”

Many have also noticed that Ashlee is now sporting a new look, which people think is an imitation to Jessica’s style. Ashlee appeared on the pages of Harper’s Bazaar looking sophisticated and classy.

Ashlee is aware of the way the media made her into a target. She knows that there are people who hate her but she is firm on the fact that she is a happy person, and she’s happy with her looks.

“Everybody always has an opinion. One minute they’ll love you; one minute they’ll hate you. When you go home to sleep at night [the important thing] is to feel good about yourself. And I do.”

Ashlee Simpson also knows that some of her fans were turned off by her plastic surgery. Some are saying that her unique features have disappeared and she now looks like the Olsens. She says that her fans need not worry because she has not changed throughout all those makeovers. She is still the same person. She made the decision for herself alone and she hopes that people will respect that.

  • Big problem

I work with at a south florida center that performs, among other things, liposuction in Miami, and I've got a big problem with ashlee simpsom dispensing plastic surgery advice... actually i've got a big problem with simpson dispensing advice of any kind. And you've got bigger problems that looks if you listen to anything she has to say (or buy anything she has to "sing").

I See Her Lips Moving But…

… that doesn't necessarily mean she's actually saying anything. I'm neither a fan of "her" music or her, but here I think Ashlee actually gets it right. I'm not a doctor, but I work with many all around the U.S., including one who among other things performs a lot of breast augmentation in Hawaii. One thing I've learned, besides the fact that a patient should have realistic expectations, is that they should be having the surgery - regardless of the procedure - for no one but themselves. It's their opinion of themselves and how the procedure might help in improving it that matters. Ones family, friends, co-workers... fans? Doesn't matter. How you feel about yourself and your surgery is all that should matter to you. Maybe Ashlee missed her calling...
