Plastic surgery costs vary from surgeon to surgeon and from state to state. Surgeons who are known for their expertise and experience may charge more than others. Also, prices in Chicago might also be quite different from those of Beverly Hills or Los Angeles for a specific procedure.

So how is a patient going to know if his or her surgeon is charging more than what is expected of the procedure? This plastic surgery weblog gives us that much-needed guidance.

It's true that cosmetic surgery is a significant investment, but why shouldn't it be? Do you want to cheap out on taking care of yourself? The most important thing is to get what you pay for. And while in most cases non-invasive procedures won't give you the results of a facelift or brow lift, they can still work wonders at a much more affordable price. For instance, a Long Island BOTOX procedure may be 1/10th the price of a brow lift, and many people see a lot more than 1/10th of the benefit. As always, the best thing to do is explore and price out your options, then make an informed decision.

I work with a doctor specializing in Simi Valley cosmetic surgery, and I feel like I should mention that your "quote" should include: the cost of your surgery, lab tests, garments, the anesthesia, any surgical center charges, your preoperative examination, and any post-op visits, with the exception of any medications.

re: the recovery suites, i work with a plastic surgeon who performs Simi Valley cosmetic surgery, and yeah, there are places like this out here in So Cal. of course, right? i like it too. i looked at the site, and the prices seem really reasonable, considering you're staying at the hyatt, and getting all that medical attention.

... because i just read about this place called cosmetic surgery recovery suites... for now, i guess, it's just for those recovering from Columbus plastic surgery (Ohio), but you can bet the plan is going to be to roll it out across the country. there must be something like this in LA. basically, you recover at the Hyatt (nice!), while having immed access to medical care, should you need it. better than lying in your bed at home, i would think. of course, it costs more than recovering at home, but it seems like if you're spending a decent amount on plastic surgery, why not spend a little more to recover in style?

Cosmetic Surgery Magazine has an article on this ("Plastic Surgery Prices"), as well as a pretty comprehensive table showing national averages for the most popular plastic surgery procedures. I would assume it's pretty current too, given that it was uploaded in early October 2007. Hope it helps...
