Doctors just can’t get enough of Botox. After discovering that the toxin can be used to treat Bell’s Palsy, knee pain, and incontinence; physicians have also ventured on the effects of Botox on reducing disfiguring scars.

And it seems that their efforts have paid off. Botox really seldom disappoints.

According to 6Abc, plastic surgeon Anthony Brissett used Botox injections to minimize huge scars. Here are more details:

Now doctors are testing it against disfiguring scars.

Tyrena Huggins had that kind of a scar... In fact, it was a gaping hole... After doctors removed skin cancer from her face.

"I felt like I hit rock bottom cause.... When you see a hole in your face its like, oh no. And I started screaming and crying."

Her plastic surgeon, Dr. Anthony Brissett, repaired as much of the damage as he could.

And he used Botox injections to minimize scarring.

Just like a cast immobilizes a broken bone so it can mend, Dr. Brissett says Botox freezes muscles to keep them still around a wound.

Okay, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Botox will soon be used to treat AIDS. This amazing toxin can do anything.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I know about the many uses for BOTOX - underarm sweating, bladder problems, etc. - but apparently there are some people out there who think it can do anything. I work for a plastic surgeon, and sad to say, this drug has its limits. Don't get me wrong, BOTOX deserves most of the praises it has received, but it's not a replacement for browlift or facelift surgery in Chicago. Cosmetic surgery remains to the only way to make long-lasting improvements to your facial appearance.

    What can't Botox do?

A lot, actually. But, since I've started working with an Orange County plastic surgeon, as well as several other docs across the country, I've learned that there's a lot it can do. I'm about to make an assumption here, but like most, before I really became involved in the industry, I thought Botox was simply something to make fun of. Who would willfully have it injected into them? Millions it turns out. Then, I thought it was only used to treat lines between the brows. Then, I learned that it's used to combat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Okay. Now, scars? I didn't know that, but it seems that I'm learning more everyday... and that's a good thing.
