Joan Rivers has been famous for her work as a Hollywood comedienne. Not only that, she has also been making a name for herself as a passionate promoter of plastic surgery.

In a recent interview, the 73-year-old comedienne expressed her deepest appreciation to cosmetic surgery.

"I believe in plastic surgery. Eventually you will look in the mirror and you will know. You will hit 40 and say, 'that isn't quite right,'" the Daily Mail quoted Rivers, as saying.

Rivers, who rose to fame with the Johnny Carson show in 1965, has had numerous plastic surgeries herself. She said that Hollywood is filled with new reformed faces and she is the only one who's honest about it.

"I have done what everyone does in California. Goldie Hawn has a totally different face from when she started," she said.

Rivers already an eye lift, two facelifts, at least one nose job and some Botox. She confessed that after all those makeovers, her plastic surgeon now refuses to perform more procedures on her. Having too many procedures done is always not a good thing to do. Thus, Rivers gave a call to everyone who wishes to improve their appearance to go under the knife at least once.

"Anyone out there who thinks they don't like their nose? Do something about it! You go through life once. Fix your teeth," she said.

"My motto is 'better a new face coming out of an old car than an old face coming out of a new car'. Spend your money on you," she added.

  • Funny… And True (Maybe)

I'm not a surgeon myself, but I do sometimes have the good fortune to work with a Las Vegas cosmetic surgeon. So, I read a lot of these posts and watch a lot of the "reality" and "reality-based" shows about plastic surgery - Dr. 90210, nip/tuck, The Swan (when it was on). It's always somewhat interested how celebs who have obviously had plastic surgery, deny it. But, not Joan! And good for her! I'm happy that she's happy. I saw an episode of nip/tuck she was on (who didn't), and she was hilarious. She wanted them to reverse her surgeries, and when they showed her what she would look like (and what she would've looked like had she never had PS), she said something like, "I look like ET!" Hilarious! I agree, if there's something someone doesn't like about their appearance, plastic surgery might be able to help; it's at least worth investigating. With that said, when it comes to plastic surgery, my opinion doesn't count; and neither does Joan's. Obviously, the only opinion that counts is the person considering surgery.
