While there are celebrities who are trying their best to outdo each other on who’s going to be the most natural aging actress in Hollywood, Joely Richardson is taking the road less traveled and expressed her glee over the presence of cosmetic surgery procedures.

Starpulse reports that the British actress has expressed her thanks to cosmetic surgeons for the pursuit of youthful beauty. Richardson says she is very glad that anti-aging procedures are readily available.

The star of the hit TV series Nip/Tuck also admits that she is open to the idea of going under the knife though she is quite confident that her career has never been affected by her lack of plastic surgery.

Starpulse quoted Joely as saying: Someone once said to me during the first series of Nip/Tuck, 'Do you think if you had bigger boobs you would have won an Oscar by now?' and I replied, 'No, I don't think so. I would just have bigger boobs. I don't know if I would have plastic surgery just yet. But I'm very glad it's out there."

Joely Richardson has joined forces with Michelle Pfeiffer and Scarlett Johansson in showing their interest in undergoing plastic surgery once aging becomes too much to handle.

  • j richardson should be happy about the presence of...

... air. otherwise, she'd eat nothing at all. i don't know, i guess a little light might get down into that stomach of hers as well. I'm sort of in the business (cosmetic surgery, not show business... i work with Columbus cosmetic surgery recovery suites), and i love nip/tuck! and i think joley's a heck of an actress. but, she's getting way too skinny. seriously, this season (5?), she's skin, bones and make-up. and this is said knowing that TV adds like 10 to 20 lbs to a person. as someone who works in ps (i'm not a doc, btw), i'm glad that people with some influence aren't afraid to say that surgery is an option down the road. still, i would like to see joley do something good for herself now... eating would be a good place to start.

    Don't just thank cosmetic surgeons…

Also please thank dermatologists! The fact is if we invested the time to know our skin type, to tailor our skin care products to it and to protect our skin from harmful uv rays and environmental pollutants, then maybe it would be possible to slow the onset of the signs of aging, thus delaying longer having to take more drastic measures such as plastic surgery. I work quite a bit with a La JOlla dermatologist who administers Botox in San Diego, and one of the things I've learned (I'm not a doctor, btw), is that by relaxing the muscles that over time can cause wrinkles, one not only looks more youthful, but potentially also slows the signs of aging. Does that make sense? In other words, if you start earlier, the muscles require more time to create the wrinkles we accept as the signs of aging.
