Dancing With The Stars contestant Karina Smirnoff had plastic surgery on her twice-broken nose, according to her own rep.

Karina Smirnoff is a 29-year-old professional dancer who got paired with boxer Floyd Mayweather in the new season of the show. Smirnoff must have had enough putting up with her ugly nose so she opted to have it repaired through a rhinoplasty also known as nose job. Smirnoff had the procedure done on November 2 for medical as well as aesthetic reasons.

A rhinoplasty surgeon worked on Smirnoff’s nose and repaired the nasal passageway. He also reshaped her nose as it was broken twice in accidents in the past six years.

The surgeon, Dr. Nicholas Nicolov, told Extra: "She can breathe easier. She may find being a little less tired, a little less winded."

Karina is expected to heal fast and be able to appear on the November 27 Dancing With The Stars finale when all of the season five couples will reunite on the ballroom floor.

  • I don't know Ms. Smirnoff, but I know noses...

This is the type of story about ps that i really enjoy reading. So much, we're forced to read about the "dark side of plastic surgery," or about how it's only for the vain. For those of us in the industry, though (I work with a surgeon performing plastic surgery in New Jersey), we know that surgery can be for cosmetic and/or medical reasons. And that's a great thing, and one i wish more people new about (wish the press gave more attention to).
